The Samaritans, Inc is Pleased to Introduce Carmen Trafton as New Executive Director

May 11, 2015, KEENE. NH: The Board of Directors of The Samaritans, Inc. is pleased to announce that Carmen Prandini Trafton has been appointed as The Samaritans’ new Executive Director effective May 1, 2015.
 
Ms. Trafton will serve as the main community spokesperson for the agency and oversee all administrative functions.
 
Carmen is a certified grant writer with over 20 years of experience helping non-profit organizations in many capacities.  She received her B.A. from Keene State in 1995 with a Major in Mass Communication and a Minor in Journalism.  She also attended The Grant Institute at Dartmouth College in 2005.
 
Prior to this appointment, Carmen worked as The Samaritans’ Program Coordinator and has formerly served as Grants Manager for MoCo Arts;  Community Director for the NH March of Dimes; and Coordinator of Campus Activities and Community Service Programs at NH Technical Institute. She served on the Board of Directors for the Cheshire Figure Skating Club and the Keene State College Alumni Association.  She completed two years of national service as an AmeriCorps VISTA, has led many Alternative Spring Breaks, and is a founding member of the North Central Neighborhood Association.
 
Carmen has received many honors for her work over the years including the KSC Presidents’ Community Partner Award in 2013 for her work at The Samaritans. 
 
Carmen was born and raised in Bennington, VT and lives in Keene, NH with her husband William and their daughter Hallie.  She volunteers at Keene Middle School, MoCo Arts, CFSC and St. Bernard’s Church.
